Course Title: Marketing Communications

Awarding Body: The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) Level 6

Intended Audience:
Designed for those in a retail or services sector who may have entered the workforce without qualifications and who have now gained valuable experience. It is intended to equip candidates with an understanding of the importance of selling and marketing, while training them to work in teams and to manage the customer interface.

Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent
18 years or over
Relevant work experience

Exemptions:
None

Course Details:
Learners who successfully complete this module will:
·         Be competent in the principles of marketing communications
·         Have detailed knowledge of communication theory
·         Be able to apply the various marketing communication tools to a work place scenario
·         Have a comprehensive understanding of the role of marketing communications in achieving organisational objectives

The specific learning outcomes are grouped into 6 units.
·         Unit 1 Communication concepts and theories
·         Unit 2 Advertising
·         Unit 3 Sales Promotions
·         Unit 4 Public Relations
·         Unit 5 Personal Selling
·         Unit 6 Direct Marketing

Registration:
Closing Date for course registration is September 10th.

Duration:
10 weeks Part-time. Commencing week of 28th September 2010.

Assessment:
Project 100%

Course Fees:
Tuition Fees €400.00. Books extra.
