CPA Accountancy Course
Course Title: Certified Public Accountants (CPAXX)Awarding Body: Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland (CPA)
With over 2,600 members and 1,700 students, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants in Ireland is one of the country’s main accountancy bodies. The CPA qualification is recognised as equivalent to those of other statutory bodies in the EU, and the qualification is included in the Mutual Recognition Directive (89/48/EEC).
Intended Audience:
Students represent a wide range of backgrounds, from qualified Accounting Technicians to those doing Accountancy studies for the first time. Most are already in the workplace but not necessarily in an Accounting role.

Entry Requirements
· Holder of a recognised Degree, Diploma, certificate or Professional Qualification.
· Or Holder of Leaving Certificate, having obtained passes in six subjects, three of which are at least Grade C or higher in three higher-level papers. Two of these six subjects must be English and Mathematics,
· Or Mature Student, Applicants must be aged 25 years or more prior to registration.
Exemptions
Accounting Technicians Ireland 2009 and 2010 qualified students get exemptions from all of Level F1 and F2 Level 2 papers Taxation and Financial Accounting. Previous years Accounting Technicians Ireland students get exemptions from all F1 and F2 Taxation and Information Systems.
Please note that exemptions at Formation 2 may only be awarded if all year 2 exams are passed in one sitting. Should a student fail to pass all subjects in one sitting, exemptions at Formation 1 only will be granted upon completion of the Accounting Technician qualification. Students must obtain a mark of 50 or more in each subject at the first attempt.
Holders of recognised certificates, diplomas, degrees and professional qualifications are entitled to exemptions from some of the papers from Formation 1, Formation 2 and Professional 1 below on a subject-by-subject basis. Students should contact the CPA to discuss in further detail.
Course Details
The CPA exam structure consists of four exam levels, Formation 1, Formation 2, Professional 1 and Professional 2. Genesis Business College offers a part-time course in level F2 and P1 only.

Registration: Closing date for course registration with Genesis Business College September 10th. New students MUST also register with the CPA before December 1st in order to sit the April 2012 examinations.
Duration: 25 Weeks per year 1 nights per week (f2), 2 nights per week (P1) commencing week of September 26th, 2011 plus weekend past papers revision sessions.
Tuition Cost: F2 - €399 per module. Tuition fees exclude CPA registration fee, exam fees,exemption fees and book costs. Registration, Exam, Exemption and Subscription fees which are payable directly to the CPA.
