Course Title: Supervision in Childcare
Awarding Body: The Further Education and Training Council (FETAC)
The Further Education and Training Awards Council (FETAC) is now responsible for making awards that were previously made by CERT (Now Failte Ireland), FAS, the National Council for Vocational Awards (NCVA) and Teagasc. FETAC makes awards to learners on a vast range of programmes offered by providers of many different types. This course offers a FETAC Level 6 Major Award.
Intended Audience:
Designed for individuals looking to gain qualifications and knowledge in a comprehensive listing of
childcare modules. Whether working within a private or commercial sector this course will enable
students to gain theory, practical and legal aspects of training within a childcare environment.
Entry Requirements:
Leaving Certificate standard or equivalent.
21 years or over.
Relevant Work experience
Exemptions
Students who may have already completed FETAC modules may enrol for exemptions.

Students will be required to complete the following modules:
This Award comprises of a total of five modules:
Supervision in Childcare
Child Development
Social and Legal issues in Childcare
Early Childhood Programmes
Choose one of the following electives:
Spreadsheets or Word Processing
Registration: BEFORE 11th September 2009
Duration: 18 Month Course: Core subjects 22 weeks over 2 nights(Monday/Wednesdays) per week from week of 28th September 2009 for the four core subjects. Electives are delivered as flexible learning options and students have 18 months in total for entire
Cost per Year: Tuition Fees for Year 2009 – 2010 €1,500. Books are an extra cost.
Further Study: Other Administration/Business Programmes
This course is run from the Wexford Centre Only and is run subject to sufficient demand
