AN IRISH SUCCESS STORY…. Genesis Business College

Back in year 2000 Fleur and Ted Creed looked at moving back to Wexford having worked in Dublin for a number of years. Newly married, a decision was made for quality of life reasons, to move back to Fleur’s home county of Wexford. They were amazed at the lack of computer training and education opportunities available in Wexford other than ECDL

‘At that time if you had the desire to better yourself it meant travel to either Carlow, Waterford or Dublin following a days work or at weekends’

Our aim was to offer a range of Certificate and Diploma courses to individuals and companies. With the support of the Wexford County Enterprise Board our dream quickly became a reality. We now offer a full range of courses up to National Framework of Qualifications(NFQ) Level 6. We were the first College in Wexford to offer third level courses such as the Accounting Technician. Now the Accounting Technician is now considered as a pre requisite for any accounts position.

Other organisations have since followed suit, but we pride ourselves with being the first. Winners of the Wexford County Enterprise Board Entrepeneur of the Year Award 2008 we are a small personal college, identifying and supporting individual training and education needs. All classes are small number with all students on first name terms with friendly qualified and dedicated lecturers and trainers.

WHAT WE DO…. We now have training centres in Wexford, Carlow, Gorey and Kilkenny. Our computer courses are tailored at both Individuals and Organisations alike. All of our courses are part-time and certified. Our training centres are accredited to offer Pitman Training courses which are all part-time learning flexible programmes designed to suit your needs. Our Wexford centre also offers additional courses including IATI, CPA, Business Studies, Childcare and Special Needs Assistant Courses. We are also FAS approved and registered with FETAC [the Further Education and Training Awards Council] to offer programmes leading to FETAC awards in the National Framework of Qualifications. In addition we are an authorised Sage software reseller for Sage Payroll, CRM and Accounting software.

Career: Qualified as an Accountant in 1995, worked previously with Schering Plough (Rathdrum) and Software Resources (Dublin) as a consultant. Currently a director of Wexford Chamber of Commerce and Wexford Management Forum. Registered as a Mentor with Wexford County Enterprise Board. Lectures in Genesis Business College and Professional Seminars on Accounting, Finance and Business.
